My ePortfolio - My Voice

Updated: Jul 28

“The world needs to hear from you. Everyone has a story that needs to be shared.  Someone, somewhere, needs to hear what you have to say,” states Hendley (2021).

My ePortfolio is more than an academic requirement. It is a dynamic platform that showcases my evolution through learning experiences in both academic and professional contexts. It reflects my unique values, personality, and perspective through the stories and reflections I share. Voice is what helps make my thoughts authentic and meaningful.

As Dr. Harapunik (2018) states, voice helps learners share their authentic learning, ideas, insights, and knowledge with others. As I continue to create and update my e-portfolio, I hope it accurately reflects the person I am and the growth I have achieved. As I add posts and artifacts to my e-portfolio, I strive to convey my authentic voice, showcasing my passions, values, and beliefs.

When I set out to create my eportfolio, I was scared and overwhelmed. I had thoughts and ideas for how it should look, but I was unsure how to bring it all together to create a professional, visually appealing, and engaging platform. There were several frustrating moments, including technical and formatting challenges, as well as occasional self-doubt. While working through these challenges, I discovered new things about the digital application, as well as myself.  I am learning how to express myself through reflective work, bringing clarity to my educational philosophy, and exploring how I can utilize technology to enhance learning and engagement for students. I would like my eportfolio to reflect my journey through the ADL program, both as an educator and a lifelong learner.

My eportfolio, as a living document, will represent my journey as an educator and a digital leader. I plan to utilize my eportfolio for several different purposes. 1. To share new innovative teaching practices and digital tools to enhance student learning and engagement. 2. Collaborate with other educators. 3. Inspire other educators to share their learnings and journey. And 4. To support new professional opportunities.

Our voice is important and makes us unique. As Handley(2021) states, our voice changes over time depending on our circumstances. However, it is still ours, and we need to be intentional about how we use it.
